Duke Completes First Year as Lead of SIREN Hub (MAGNETIC)

Duke Emergency Medicine, along with our partner Michael “Luke” James from Anesthesia Critical Care, completed its first year as leader of the NIH-funded Strategies to Innovate EmeRgENcy Care Clinical Trials Network (SIREN) Hub-“Mid-Atlantic praGmatic NETwork for Inclusive Clinical trials in emergency care (MAGNETIC)”. The MAGNETIC Hub consists of 6 sites conducting clinical trials in emergency cardiology and neurological emergency conditions. Additionally, the award provides funding for the development of junior faculty to conduct clinical research. Emergency Medicine Clinical Research Unit member Tammy Hawley has taken over as clinical research coordinator leader of Duke Emergency Medicine’s SIREN activities.
