The Duke Department of Emergency Medicine has partnered with the Hubert-Yeargan Center for Global Health and the Duke Global Health Institute to offer a Global Health Fellowship, a two-year advanced training program in global health for emergency physicians.
Resident Research Fellowship
The Duke Emergency Medicine Resident Research Fellowship prepares residents for careers in emergency medicine research through protected research time, personalized mentorship, and structured career development. Designed for residents in Duke’s Emergency Medicine Residency Program, the fellowship helps participants build research skills, develop meaningful collaborations, complete scholarly work, and work toward a trainee-led grant or other individualized career goal.
Emergency Ultrasound
Duke Emergency Medicine offers a one year fellowship in Emergency Ultrasound, with a multitude of resources. The Emergency Department has seven ultrasound machines, wirelessly linked to an electronic archiving and quality assurance system (QPATH). Our simulation lab includes multiple high fidelity ultrasound simulators. We have an active research and device engineering program, with partners at the Duke University Pratt School of Engineering and Stanford University and $200,000 in grant funding through the Coulter-Stanford Foundation.
Sports Medicine
Through a collaboration with Duke Orthopedics, Family Medicine, and Sports Medicine, Duke Emergency Medicine offers an ACGME-accredited 1 year fellowship in Sports Medicine.
Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Fellowship
In partnership with Duke Anesthesia and the Center for Hyperbaric Medicine and Environmental Physiology, Duke offers an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine.
Additional Advanced Training Opportunities
