Duke Emergency Medicine shined at the international Venom Week conference. This unique scientific symposium brings physicians, veterinarians, toxinologists, and scientists together to highlight the latest advances in understanding venomous animals. The event was held in Durham, North Carolina, and many Duke EM members presented original research in a wide array of scientific disciplines: basic science studies of coagulation, randomized clinical trials of new therapeutics, qualitative studies of clinician approaches, and health system approaches to treatment delivery. It was an outstanding opportunity not only for members of our team to see the fruits of their labor, but also to see some live snakes!
