Ashley Britt, PA-C, was born and raised in Whiteville, North Carolina. She received a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Health Professions in 2006 and a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2010 from East Carolina University. She got her start in emergency medicine in 2011 at Vidant Health and has been practicing at Duke Emergency Medicine since 2015. She currently serves as the Director of the Physician Assistant Residency and as the Assistant Advanced Practice Director. In addition, she teaches clinical skills at the Duke DNP program, Immersion Course at the School of Medicine and lectures at the Duke PA Program.
Ashley’s contributions to the department are truly invaluable. She has an exceptional ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues from all disciplines and an expertise in educating others. Ashley’s compassion not only enhances the patient’s experience but also fosters a learning environment that allows students to truly understand the art of emergency medicine. Her dedication to the Physician Assistant Resident’s education and Staff APPs wellness is unmatched. These are some of the many qualities that make her an outstanding leader and most importantly a friend to many.
In her spare time, she hangs out with her dog Finley and enjoys spending time with her niece, Ava, and nephews, Aiden and Avery. After shift, you can find her on the pickleball courts with her PA colleagues.
