What were you looking for in a residency program?
A kind group of people and acuity to allow me to grow as a physician in a safe environment
What are the strengths of the Duke program?
An understanding program director who truly cares about residents and a hospital with complex patients plus amazing educator faculty. Coming to Duke from California for training was the best decision I ever made!
What advice do you have for incoming interns?
Remember to continue doing the things you love in residency when it comes to hobbies and scholarly projects. It will make your career a lot more fulfilling! Residency is emotionally difficult for everyone, find the people who energize you and won’t dim your light.
What do you like best about living in Durham and the Triangle?
The cost of living and NO TRAFFIC (California could never). So many fun things to do within close proximity, my commute is never too long.
What do you like to do outside of Duke?
Long walks in nature (there is so much green here!), karaoke, dancing, and chatting it up with friends at boba shops!
