Clinical and Research Interests

Clinically, I am pursuing a fellowship in palliative care. I am involved in a few research projects one about Palliative Care in Mass Casualty Incidents and the other looking at CT Imaging for Abdominal complaints - if you are interested in it, Duke researches it!

What were you looking for in a residency program?

A culture of learning with supportive co-residents and attendings, a department that practices evidence-based medicine and is constantly growing and improving based on the latest science to care for our patients, a place where innovation and research is the norm!

What are the strengths of the Duke program?

The attendings are super invested in your learning and growth and are kind! Co-residents who care about you inside and outside the hospital. Life happens during residency, and you need a program that cares about YOU as a person.

What advice do you have for incoming interns?

1. Enjoy the non-stressful parts of 4th year, spend time with family and friends!
2. As an intern, realize you have a lot to learn, but every day you are learning something. Choose a goal for each week.
3. Trust the system - you will grow so much in residency (even if you don't immediately see it). You will do great!

What do you like best about living in Durham and the Triangle?

Such great food and outdoor spaces! My husband and I love our house and neighborhood.

What do you like to do outside of Duke?

I love trying new restaurants! Ideal's Sandwich and Grocery is the best. PERIOD. I love being a part of the Raleigh-Durham pickleball scene with my husband.
