What were you looking for in a residency program?
- A program with combination Academic center and community hospitals for training.
- Moderate sized program that allows closer connections with faculty and residents.
- Opportunities for working with and teaching medical students.
What are the strengths of the Duke program?
- Diverse faculty bring a lot of different experience and teaching on shift and during conference.
- Plenty of research opportunities in both clinical and lab settings.
- Wonderful group of residents, faculty and staff that get along well on shift.
What advice do you have for incoming interns?
Continue your favorite hobbies and make your wellness the same level of priority as your training.
What do you like best about living in Durham and the Triangle?
- Close proximity to multiple lakes, state parks and short trips to the mountains/beaches.
- Plenty of options to meet up outside with co-residents nearby for a meal or coffee.
- Active city with plenty of running and biking trails including Duke Forest.
What do you like to do outside of Duke?
Taking my dog to explore the trails and lakes around the triangle.
