In December of 2021, the Duke Global Health Institute and the Duke School of Medicine’s Division of Emergency Medicine established the Global Emergency Medicine Innovation and Implementation Research Center (GEMINI), the first academic research center focused on global emergency medicine.

GEMINI builds on over a decade of previous work in global health within Duke’s Division of Emergency Medicine. The mission of GEMINI is to advance global emergency care through research, capacity building, and implementation of data-driven innovations to improve access to and equity of care.
