Congratulations to Chandler Brown, a medical student at University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, who received the Duke Emergency Medicine Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) Scholarship for Visiting Medical Students.
The four-week sub-internship scholarship goes to fourth-year medical students who are interested in advancing diversity in emergency medicine and understanding how diversity leads to better health outcomes. The scholarship is designed to facilitate a valuable educational experience while alleviating financial burdens.
“I am deeply honored and grateful to be the first recipient of the JEDI Scholarship,” Mr. Brown says. “This blessing has not only recognized my efforts but also provided me with the financial support needed to participate in my away rotation without worry.
“The department’s generosity does not go unnoticed, and I am truly thankful for your willingness to support students like me.”
