How to Apply

Our sub-internship rotation in emergency medicine (EM 401-C) is only offered in the summer/early fall, from June until early September.

Duke University School of Medicine uses the AAMC’s Visiting Student Learning Opportunities (VSLO) system and applications should be submitted through the Visiting Medical Student Program. Our application requires a short letter of interest and the system usually opens in February.

The Duke registrar will notify you of acceptance. However, it is important to note that we cannot notify you of acceptance until mid-to-late March for summer applicants (rotations starting in June, July).

Similarly, it will be mid-to-late April for fall applicants (rotations starting in August).

If you have a conflict between your school’s and Duke School of Medicine’s calendar, please contact us.
