I grew up inspired by the vision of leaders like JFK, who defined a generation of scientific inquiry through his quest to reach the Moon. As Residency Director, I've challenged our residents to launch our own Apollo mission: to expand the frontiers of emergency medicine through research and education, bringing new knowledge to unleash the best possible medical care for our patients.

Professor Joshua Broder, MD, has been Emergency Medicine Residency Program Director since 2011. Dr. Broder has received numerous teaching awards including the 2007 ACEP National Faculty Teaching Award and the 2007 Council of Residency Directors (CORD) Faculty Teaching Award. In 2013, he was recognized with the CORD Academy for Scholarship in Education in Emergency Medicine "Distinguished Educator" Award. He has written two books, Critical Images in Emergency Medicine and Diagnostic Imaging for the Emergency Physician, which won the 2011 American Publishers Award for Clinical Medicine. Dr. Broder's research focuses on diagnostic imaging in emergency medicine.
